From humble beginnings gypsy brewing in 2016, we are excited to finally announce the opening of our long awaited taproom in Currumbin Waters. With our passion for quality, locally sourced ingredients, and an on going commitment to sustainability, we are seeking energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to apply for the following positions:
Food Trailer Cook
Job Title: Food Trailer Cook
Location: Currumbin Waters, Queensland
Hours: Casual 20 hours / week
Availability: Wednesday through Sunday
Start: Late August / Early September
Minimum Experience: 3 years as a cook
Job Description: As the cook for our food trailer (air-conditioned), you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality food items. You will work closely with the brewery team to create a diverse and enticing menu that pairs well with our craft beers. Your duties will include:
- Planning and executing a food menu that highlights fresh, locally sourced ingredients and complements the flavours of our craft beers.
- Preparing and cooking food items in a timely manner while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Operating and maintaining the equipment in the food trailer, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitoring inventory levels, placing orders for ingredients, and managing food costs effectively.
- Collaborating with the bar staff to ensure efficient communication and smooth operations between the taproom and food trailer.
- Providing excellent customer service by interacting with patrons, taking orders, and accommodating dietary restrictions or special requests.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Training and supervising any additional kitchen staff hired to assist with food trailer operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment is required.
- Strong culinary skills and a creative approach to menu development.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the brewery team and interact with customers.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Experience in food truck or mobile kitchen operations is a plus.
- Valid food handler's certificate or relevant certifications are preferred.
